THE PAST FEW YEARS...

August 2011 to Present

O2 (Telefónica UK Limited)

Slough, Berkshire

I am currently working for O2 in Slough. I am working in an AGILE team environment, initially on a project to implement the user interface for a new web shop for the o2.co.uk website using the cloud based Sales Force platform. I am using skills in XHTML, CSS, Photoshop, Native Javascript and JQuery. I am working with another web developer using an AGILE 'pair programming' technique. Sales Force specialists Cloudsense have a team onsite to handle the build and we are sat with them in order to work closely on the integration of the front end designs into the platform.

October 2010 to August 2011

Sapient @ Vodafone

Newbury, Berkshire

My previous contract was working for Sapient (Number 1 Agency on NMA Top 100 Agencies List 2010) and was based on site in Newbury with their large telecommunications client Vodafone. I worked as part of a sprint team as the front end web development resource.

The work involved working closely with other Developers, IA's and Designers. I followed supplied wireframes and designs to produce batches of semantic, standards compliant code for integration into the main Vodafone website. I was also tasked with day to day updates and amends which were entered into the ATG based content management system.

My personal success highlights for this account include re-modelling the 'My Account' section, overhauling the 'Vodafone One Net' section, implementing the new 'Streamline Registration', 'FreeBee' topup campaign integration, Vodafone VIP Login and 'iPhone4 in White' implementation.

During my time at Sapient I gained good exposure to emerging web technologies such as developing for mobile devices, HTML5 & CSS3 and best practice processes such as Progressive Enhancement & Responsive Web Design.

March to October 2010

Arcadia Group Limited

Oxford Street, London

I have worked for Arcadia Group on various projects in the past and was delighted to be asked back on this occasion. The project aim was to re-purpose the navigation, integrate a new CMS system and implement a design overhaul of the entire group of brand websites.

This was a major project and the work was fast paced, requiring me to hit the ground running from day one. I worked within a specially recruited team of 10 front end web developers taking supplied Adobe Photoshop designs and creating standalone XHTML/CSS/Javascript templates. The templates, once tested and validated were then integrated into a Content Management System called 'ECMC' (based on Adobe Flex) and custom 'Velocity' code added.

I worked primarily on Evans but also worked on Miss Selfridge, Wallis, Burton, Topman & Topshop. I was also given ad-hoc updates and amends to do for all the brands, including preparing Rich Media Emails.

January to March 2010

Working closely with a Business Analyst, Programmer and a Designer, I integrated the supplied layouts into the website using hand coded XHTML/CSS, Visual Studio 2008 & Photoshop. Challenges of the project involved having to maintain strict revision control, making sure my code changes did not affect other areas of the website and meeting agreed deadlines to coincide with scheduled code releases to live.

Please Note: The current website has been changed since I worked on it, everything I worked on is no-longer on the live website. I have provided a link to the website but if it looks dreadful - I'm not to blame!

I worked for three months on a project for CORGI in Basingstoke. As the only front end developer, I was personally responsible for the CSS/XHTML/Javascript front end development and integration into Microsoft Sharepoint 2007. The project ran smoothly and the website successfully went live ahead of schedule.

I worked as part of a team using Agile SCRUM methodology. The website uses Microsoft Sharepoint and ASP.net. I was provided with a design for the website which was created by an outside agency and I worked with the programmers to integrate the design into the Sharepoint project. I initially built templates locally using Dreamweaver and Photoshop etc and then integrated the templates into the Sharepoint solution using Visual Studio.

Please Note: The current website has been changed since I worked on it, everything I worked on is no-longer on the live website. I have provided a link to the website but if it looks dreadful - I'm not to blame!
